Okinawan Memory Quilt

A bunch of my friends got together to work on a memory quilt project.  We each picked a subject and we would create 20 of the same square then swap with the 19 other women.  The squares turned out wonderful and I'm excited to put my quilt together.  Here is a picture of us and all the fun squares that the ladies did.  I tried to type info on each square, but I was having issues with the pictures shifting and disappearing and it was driving me mad, so no descriptions.  I made the red geta shoes the kind that are worn with a kimono.   Hope you like them.

Hi, I found your blog trough Tina Parkes page. She has been giving me info about the island. We are moving there at the end of July and I have been trying to do lots of research about Kadena. Though this post caught my interest. Do you guys quilt a lot? I have a few girls here that quilt. I actually just started tw months ago and have done three quilts and have three more quilt tops to quilt still. So I was wondering if you met up quite a bit or if this was a one time thing?

Thanks, Dawn
