2008 Vacation

Sorry no slideshow.  I have been having issues trying to post it to my blog because there are way too many pictures to post.  If anyone has any answers to my problem let me know.
On June 15th we headed for the states.  We were taking space-available travel, so it was quite the adventure.  On Space-A you never know what kind of plain you'll end up on, so it was kind of fun to fly on the KC-135 which is the same jet Jay works on.  I actually didn't mind that we were sitting in jump seats because we had a lot more room to move around.  We first flew to Guam and spent the night in the terminal.  Then the next morning we flew to Hawaii and were there for a few days.  It has been such a blessing that Justin & Sharamie Henley are stationed there.  They have been great friends to let us pop-in on them and spend a few days on the way to the states and the way back.  We then flew to Travis AFB in California.  Jay's sister, Sarah, was wonderful to come and pick us up.  We spent a few days with her having a great time, as always, playing games, going to the beach, and more. Then all of us headed up camping to Fort Bragg in northern California to meet up with Jay's family.  The drive to Fort Bragg is a dreaded one.  Tayson and I have thrown up every time and several times.  Sarah was so prepared with some meds for us that I slept through most of the drive and Tayson did great.  Thanks Sara! We had fun with everyone.  Tayson loved playing with all his cousins and friends and Tatum was a pretty good sport considering the cold and only being about 4 mos. old.  It was so great to see everyone.  Even though it had been a year since we had seen them, it seemed like we were back in the groove like no time had passed.  Jo, Jay's sister, planned some great meals and we enjoyed sitting around the fire talking and laughing.  We then flew to Utah to spend 4th of July with my family and to see our friends.  It was such a blast being able to see my family and talk with my sisters and my girlfriends.  It had been a year and there was a lot to talk about.  I was blown away by how much all the kids had grown and that a lot of them were taller than me now.  It was great to meet my new niece, Capri, and nephew, Leif.  4th of July is always great with the fam.  We went to the parade and then to the park and hung out and had a picnic then at night we watched the fire works at PG high school.  We were able to spend time with friends too.  We went to dinner and then went to the club house to hang out.  I loved hearing what everyone had been up to and seeing all the kids.  My dad set up a barbecue/swimming party at the clubhouse too.  We all had such a great time.  We were also able to see Jay's sister, Debie, and her family.  They invited us for dinner and then we all watched, "Escanaba in Da Moonlight".  A crazy movie, that of course Jay picked out.  We then started our adventure back home.  We flew to California and Sarah drove us to Travis AFB.  We found out a flight back to Okinawa wouldn't be leaving for a few days so we hung out with Sarah and had a great time playing card games, sleeping in the terminal,  almost starting a fire in Sarah's car, going to the movies,  all sorts of crazy stuff.  We finally got a flight out and ended up in Hawaii for a couple of days.  Justin and Sharamie graciously let us stay with them again and we went to dinner to a really cool aquarium restaurant.  Then we were headed for home.  It had been such a great month and we were worn out and ready to be back to everyday life.  We are really going to miss everyone and can't wait for the next time we'll see you again.

Wow! 8 years of pure bliss!

Okay, so maybe not pure bliss all the time, but it has been a wonderful 8 years.  We've had our ups and downs and I'm so glad to be able to have such a great man in my life.  Of those who know Jay, you know how crazy and completely full of fun he is.  He makes our lives an adventure.  I can be too serious sometimes about life and he knows exactly how to lighten things up and make everything okay.
We met Jan 3rd of '98 and it was seriously love at first meeting.  I would say at first sight, but we'd seen each other around school but had never met.  We knew we were meant for each other when we found our most favorite movie was the same movie (Willow) Just Kidding, that wasn't the deciding vote, but it sure didn't hurt.  That night Jay went home to tell his mom about me and said, "I'm gonna marry that girl" (too bad he couldn't remember my name and had to look it up in his year book).  We were only 16 years old and were connected at the hip.  I couldn't imagine life without Jay.  He was so fun to be with and was always opening my door, bringing me flowers, taking me places.  He taught me how to snowboard and golf.  He was not only my boyfriend, but my best friend.  We even shared a locker, which made one of our breakups kind of difficult.  Yeah, we broke up a few times then got back together, but I guess that helped us truly know that we wanted to be with each other forever.  September 16th, 2000 we were married in the Mount Timpanogos Temple and started a great life.  Here we are 8 years and 2 kids later, lovin' life and doing our best to keep the flames burnin'.  Love you, Jay.

Tatum and Pooh Bear

Tatum is pretty excited about Winnie the Pooh these days.  She gets really excited when I pull him out of the closet.  She grunts and opens and closes her hands.  What a silly girl.  She is so much fun.

Tayson's First Day of Kindergarten

Tayson was really excited for his first day of school on Wednesday.  Of course I had a hard time seeing my "baby" going to school.  So far it's been a really big change for all of us and definitely something we're trying to get used to.  I was so excited to be able to have some time apart because we desperately needed it and now I'm having a hard time not having him around.  I think I'm more excited to see him at the end of the day than he is to see me.  Hopefully soon we'll all be accustomed to the new schedule and life we'll go a lot smoother.

Big Spiders

Spiders have never really bothered me that much, until we got here.  So far we have had 3 encounters with these huge spiders and it is always quite the experience.  I am starting to believe that the bugs and animals around here are on steroids.  We'll have to get you pics of the snails and bats.  The first encounter with these huge spiders was crazy.  Jay took a swipe at it to push it out the door and the thing literally reared up for the attack and jumped toward him.  We all screamed like a bunch of little girls.  The one from the video happened to be hiding under Tayson's bed.  Tayson came to me and said, "Mom there's a big spider under my bed."  Of course I was thinking it was just some little spider so I go to get it and once I looked under the bed I definitely decided we would just close his door and wait for Dad to get home.  I hope this doesn't change anyone's mind about coming to visit (hint, hint Sarah and Mom Barney).
